Introduction
Many guesthouses (Zimmers) offer private pools, but there are specific regulations and guidelines regarding size, turnover rate, and the point at which a pool is considered “public.”
Unique Requirements
- 5 m² per person: At least 5 square meters of pool surface area should be allocated for each swimmer at any given time.
- 2-hour turnover: Small guesthouse pools often require faster circulation, meaning the full volume should filter within about 2 hours.
- When does it become public? If the guesthouse has 5 or more rental units, the pool is classified as a “public pool” and must comply with stricter regulations (e.g., frequent water testing, official licensing).
